Dual video cards ?
« on: June 28, 2004, 03:43:29 am »
An interesting atricle on Tomshardware about Alienware trying to have two video cards working together in one system. They say you should be able to gain 50% FPS compared to the current FPS cards give. Let's assume that's a bit overdone, even if it would be 30% - 40%, it's an amazing gain. You'll need a hell of a cooling system and power supply though ;)

I used it for a while. . had 2 Matrox video cards in my PC. . . .gaming was unimaginably slow on it. . although it was great with the extra gained resolution in desktop mode.

I skipped over the article in a hurry. .
[ I have to leave in a few moments ]

Are they gon'na use PCI-X slot's for it, as I thought to recognise on one of the screenshots. . or is that dual AGP motherboard finally nearing compleation ?

Lol I just read the same article Doc, I wonder why the X800 xt Platinum card is 100 GBP more than If I bought one in the U.S.A or 80 GBP more expensive than German prices.
What do they cost in Holland ? that's the Sapphire version.

Could someone find out for me please. Thanks ! ;)

Again, good Nvidia news. I'd like to see ATi's response to Nvdia's dual video card option. It seems Nvidia taking over 3DFX is going to pay off ;)
