Bryo some, hint and tips.
Every house can hold 20 peons or troopers. but houses do not generate income.
Every other 'building' (e.g. a road is a building) houses 10 peons AND generate income. However if you have more troopers than houses the troops will occupy the working place an thus generate no income.
If you train 1 trooper you 'convert a peon for battle' so you lose a worker.
Never let the number of peons go down to far. Even if you have builded a lot new room. Why. Because it takes 100 peons to make 4 new peons in 1 game day. So how much do you need to keep? 100, 1000? That depends on you the size of your realm. Ask in the Empire forum in the next round while playing.
What race: Chose Cordelon, Mersen or Slyth. The other 2 races are for the more experianced. (personly I would chose Cord or Slyth as starter.
If you want to play as a attacker than take Fire as elental If you play more the supportin role than choose Spirit. I found water not that useful. Eart and Air can be judged by the other players.
Don't build woodmills they are useless. Blacksmiths (lower troop cost) I use in the beginning to build up forces. but after 500 acres I don't build them anymore because the discound depends on the percentages, not for the hard figures. (I actually take them down and reuse them when I'm around 1000 acres.
Make sure you have 10-12% mages minimum for a cast on yourself.
Thief guilds 10-15% would be enouth.
Farms around 11% But none (read <0.5%) if you are forrest. Remember that you need them in the time before you become forrest.
Homes I'm aroud 30% (remember you can always put troops in the other buildings at the cost of income.
Personly I do not 'cripple' my income to hous troops. If I can't use it to place troops I build machines. They cost 3x as high but machines don't need food, housing, and are availebel for defence and offence at any time. (If you want to use defence troops for a attack you have to wait 6 hours before they are availeble).
Shipyards not really nessasary unles you want to attack a coastal realm like Bako. But in any case build at least 1 to attack Bako with 1 trooper, (It sound strange but this can save Bako a lot of gems. I'll explain later if you want to know exactly why)
Clerics: 5-10% is enouth. Slyth even less. They have 50% less loss.
Markets: I boost up the income but I prefer Roads instead
Road: Increase the attack power As attacker build up to 20%, as supporter go for the Markets.
Walls: importand for everyone. Attackers useualy don't have much (5% or so) but supporters go higher (15%) (max is 20%)
Gem mines around 5-7% is sufficiand. If you are THE mage in the Empire you need to get Gem aid from the others as the usage is high. (THE main mage opens closes portals, cast the Devine Sight as he is the strongest.)
Very importand.
The Alchemy. Everybody benefits so everybody 'should' do their share.
E.g. a investment I made in Youth Elixer pays me back in 48 hours. (BUT also ALL the others in the Empire.)

) Then invest that in either Machines or Alchemy.
