Stop playing generals?
« on: August 25, 2003, 05:45:25 pm »
The only game that gives EVERYONE trouble to get it running nice and smooth is C&C:Generals, so I thought of a idea to end all you problems;
We all stop playing the #$%@^ game, nobody should buy it anymore, and EA will be forced to make games that run at every OS nice and smooth without major problems. At this moment they don't have the intention to perfectionize te game because everybody is trying to get it running and everyone has bought it. But if nobody buys & plays it, then they want to know why, and if we all tell them why they will need to do it right next time, or else there will be no more EA. By the way, stop buying everything from EA, not just only Generals. I already gave EA up, got myself here they complete fifa series original, but my collection won't be getting expanded until they make games that really work. It can't be that hard, there are a lot of games that work always, i.e. Unreal Tournament, you really must have a crappy PC to NOT get it work. I see the game running from P1-166 till P4-3200@4000 without any problems. I hope you all ppl join my idea, and try to make the world a place where EA doesn't give you a headache.

I was never really a big fan of this game. I tried it out, but in the end it just was not much fun to me. I think Emperor Battle for Dune was a much better game and it is a couple years old.  Currently I think the better game to play is Rise of Nations. Much more interesting to me anyway. If you must have cool explosions I guess Generals is for you. I admit that once in a while I play it just to blow things up real good, but that's about all the fun I have with it.

RON is based on the AOE engine, simple but runs perfectly, microsoft knows how to make a game, in contrast to EA

More precisely put Microsoft knows how to acquire good software development houses like Ensemble and Big Huge Games in RON's case. Having Brian Reynolds (Civ 2 and Alpha Centauri) designing the game also helps.

Generals is great, a game like this cannot come without a problem.

(hahahah...)

Despite this defect of the operational systems, the remaining portion is all excellent ! I am a big fan of this game, just like the others:

- C&C 1, 2, C&C : RA 1 & Yuris revenge...

Ea neglected with this game, well... who knows with the expansion the problems will be corrected ? :)

See ya !

I told him Gryphon, when I was at his home screwing up his pc, I added the forum to it's favourites, and it works, he's member now. I hope that is superior intelligence  ;D would help us a bit. Next Lan will be around 19/20/21 october. Start practicing UT before I give u again a headshot every 30 sec Gryphon.

And don't worry. . . you'll be hearing that"rottevis his killing spree has been ended by gryphon" a lot more next LAN. ;)

Right on ! I also have stopped buying EA games stuff,
I wiped Generals from my pc because it just wouldn't run.
I also told EA's rep that customers are getting really pissed off, because of all the problems with their software.

So maybe if more people find a way to complain to EA, they might just start listening. As you say if people stop buying their rubbish, they'll have to act. ;)
