Topic: C&C generals online with a router?

hey, yesterday me and Skystormer tried to play this game online yesterday. but unfortunatly we could never connect to each other. im pretty sure the problem is the router that Skystormer has. does anyone know a way on how to get this working? thanks

Forwarding rules on the router?
Make sure the right ports are forwarded to the server (or pc on which C&C runs..)

you should ask skystormer, he is the one with the router.

I do not know how to configure a router (my brother installed all that and he doesn't live here anymore.)

I read most of the stuff here, but need really to find out how this all works.

you have adsl or cable i presume??

Check in your Lan properties what your gateway is (this would  probably be the address of your router)

You fill that address in into your IE address bar and press enter
Now you will probably get a login screen.
Username and password are required...
This is where you ask your brother what credentials he used.

if you are behind a good working NAT router you should have no problems connecting to Generals online.
You only need to forward ports if you are hosting a game.

thats the thing, i was hosting the game, and i have no router.
