No there no games yet. We are indeed too few to make a tournament. However, there are a few ppl from dune2k who are interested as well. Perhaps we could make a dune2k-gameheaven tourney?

woah this topic is alive again!
back on topic, yeah if this does happen we should use Yahoo chess. They allow people to watch and everything, good stuff.

Well guess what - Yahoo chess isn't the only one to offer that kinda stuff :P I think it should be up to the opponents to choose where to play, as well as whether to play real-time or no. Who's officially interested in a tourney?

We could see who's interested then shedule the games instead of playing randomly.

So if I get this right:

Vetje
Darkdefier
Zero D

are interested for the chess tournament. If someone isn't, then say so. If anyone wants to be in, post here. With some people from dune2k, we should be at least 8.

Great, we now have 8 people. Entries are open for a few more days.

I will need the email of those who participate. Since there are dune2k members in the tournament, this is how games will be arranged.

It turns out we are 10 players now. We could play a league-type tournament, where every player player all others but that would mean a total of 90 games - 18 for each player. So the players have been split into two groups of 5, lowering the total number of games to 42 - 8 for each player. In order to facilitate the arrangement of games the three people from the gameheaven forum have been put in the same group. The other two spots of their group have been occupied by people who are present in both forums (those were Egeides, me and Jack Leaf. Lowzeewee randomly chose the one to go to the other group). The group winners will play the final.

Each player plays each of his group opponents twice (one as white, one as black). A win is worth 1 point and a draw 0.5.

The players decide the game's time control. If they cannot agree then there is no time limit for real-time games and 10 days per move for non-real time matches.

The players decide whether to play real time or no. If they cannot agree then they have to play non-real time.

Alternatively you can send the moves via instant messages/email.

Report the game results by posting here. It would be nice to have the move lists too.
You may begin playing the games with the people in the same group as you.

The same information will be messaged to all the players shortly.
