WATCH this movie
« on: September 11, 2003, 06:24:19 pm »
Movies I think YOU should watch:

the Ninthgate-

great movie, one of my absolute favourite movies I absolutely love it. Johnny Depp plays a bookdetective who is hired to find the book of the beast himself. I don't wanna tell you too much but this is a MUST for movie lovers with a tendency to the occult.

From Hell -

again Johnny Depp (great actor), nothing much to say really - who is Jack the Ripper? this one gives a good theory, and Depp is as allways marvelous.

American history (e)X -

Ed Norton is another of my favorite actors and this movie is a masterpiece. His dad is killed by a black guy and Ed becomes a neo-nazi. I don't wanna give it away, a nasty movie that gives you lotsa things to think about afterwards.

The Believer

can't remember the lead actor but he does a great job - think about this - you are a jew and a nazi? my bet is he must have a lot of things to fight with inside WATCH IT.

feel free to add on

Well I have seen the Ninth Gate (I own that one on DVD)and I agree that Depp is excellent in this movie. I also thought Frank Langella did a great job as well.

The other 3 movies you mention I have never even heard of and they sound interesting. I will check them out as time permits.

You know a good movie with Ed Norton in it is called "The Score" with Robert Deniro and Marlon Brando. Check that one out when you get a chance.

Sleepy Hollow

again Johnny Depp. He works as a constable in the 18th century's New York. He is sent to the little Dutch settlement of Sleepy Hollow to solve 4 strange murders said to be commited by a headless rider. Director is Tim Burton and the entire movie has the speciel Tim Burton kinda spirit in it.

Memento

Guy Parce plays Lennart, a man with no shortterm memory??? he's chasing his wifes rapist and murdere. The great part about this movie is that it moves backwards. I had a couple of good laughs and was confused until the very end.

Since we are talking about Johnny Dep I remember another good movie with him in it called "Ed Wood". It's a movie about the worst movie maker in American, or should I say world, history. Johnny Dep portrays Ed Wood perfectly. The movie also has Martin Landau who portrays Bela Lugosi in his waning years. The movie is a riot. I think it is one of Tim Burton's best movies. I have always got a kick out of watching some of Ed Wood's really bad movies, like "Plan 9 from outer space". They show Ed putting that movie together, apparently it was his biggest production ever.

Here is the IMDB link for more info on this great movie:

Yes I read it. I am pretty quick about responding to IM's so please don't post in the forum with "I sent you a message".  This is covered in the forum rules on the fourth bullet :

Kill Bill

watch it you'll NOT be dissapointed.

http://www.kill-bill.com/ <-- for interested, this is the fourth movie by Quentin Tarantino, anyone who likes his movies - this is a must. And allthough I'm not the biggest fan of Uma Thurman (Tarantino is) I love her in this movie, at times I had to bite my lover lip not to drool over her arse in those tight tight pants.

I've seen the Ninth Gate once.  I totally forgot about it, actually.  But yes, it was a good movie.

As for my reccommendation, watch the City of Lost Children, a French film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro.
