this world cup really sucked bigtime imo

I can't recall a worse one actually.

I've allways liked Portugal - they've played rather good football - but I've lost everyhing for them and especially Christina Ronaldo.

need I say more - that little diving cunt!

I didn't even watch the finals, but congrats Italy and RIP football!

Christina must be some female version of Cristiano...;)
I never liked the Kidd, but this persecution is starting to get on my nerves, just because the English didn't recovered from another defeat, and the press there is powerfull, and started a campain against the guy, just as if he did anything unusual by diving some times, is ridiculous. At least he didn't step over some other guy balls, as the prodigal  son of England did. It must be hard for the rich countries in Northern Europe to see Portugal in the semi-finals of a world Cup, but starting a campain saying that we are a dishonest and violent people, it's a very stupid thing, as everyone who have ever been here knows, and makes me fell like go out there and kick some arses, specially of some English and french journalists. Common Raiuga, even you have to admit that Portugal didn't play good football. They've been the greatest actors in this WC and deserve an oscar for that. And I'm not refering to the match between Portugal and Holland, cause in that match even the Dutch did some unforgivable things (and I am Dutch).

I don't think it's fair though if people aim just on Cristiano..

no - Figo was just a big a diver.

and this hans't got anything to do with rich or poor countries. As far as I know Argentina isn't the richest country in the world - and neither is Spain.

now Spain hasn't been my cup of tea for a long time - but this world cup they actually played very well - they just lacked the rutine.

And I see on this with neutral eyes - Denmark wasn't even in the world cup.

Portugal was announced the "most entertaining team"! no wonder as Sepp Blatter also admitted that when he played football he was a diver.

This world cup has been the worst I can remember - sorry but that's how I feel.

I've always liked Holland as well - but I must admit that I don't like van Basten as a coach - I want TOTAL FOOTBALL again!

Now that's a completely different history. But for that matter who played well?? I'm a fan of Benfica, much more than a fan of the Portuguese squad. when Manchester United played in Lisbon for the champions League last year, Cristiano salute the Benfica fans, me included, with "the finger". I really can't stand the guy. But why picking up on him? I saw almost all the games, and guys diving there were by the dozens. And what about the English press, describing the Portuguese people as an ignorant sardine eater one?? And what about the french press, calling us terrorists and inciting violence to a point were you had Portuguese shoot down in Paris!!!

@nampigai

what mister Blatter should be explaining is how the hell did FIFA announced the winner of the Young Player Award, when there was still a match to be played where would be players that were nominated for the award.

You say this was not a question of rich and poor. I rather believe it was, because all the other explications I can come up with are worst. Well, in the end I can understand that losing to an ignorant sardine eater people must be hard...

Well as you see above I already stated that I didn’t like neither France nor Italy – nothing personally, I just don’t like the way they play football that’s it.

The same thing about: Portugal, England (under Svennis) and Holland (under van Basten)

This WC has been the worst WC – not because of the winner – but because of the poor football shown on the pitch. Only Mexico played with 3 defenders – and actually they played some good football – too bad they couldn’t get the damn ball in the net (note that Mexico is a poor nation, and I’ve been cheering for them since the start of this world cup!)

Ghana has played very good and entertaining football and they aren’t a rich country!

Again I can’t really see how you can say I’m against poor countries, but feel free to quote me if you find anything – otherwise don’t put words in my mouth.

I don’t even blame the refs for all the cards, I blame FIFA who every new finals comes up with new rules.

FIFA wanted to have a harder line and when the refs then do so and people gets mad – FIFA blames the refs! Sepp Blatter is a hypocrite and a diver!

You can't see how I can say you are against poor countries and neither can I, once I didn't state that anywhere. Just giving my opinion as you are giving yours. Raiuga – it wasn’t ment as a hetz – I just don’t like having words put in my mouth.

I can understand that, but you have to understand that neither do I.

What I was trying to state is that the English press, before the game England v Portugal, did all in it's power to taint the image of the Portuguese Team, and even of the Portuguese people. After they lose the game, they found the perfect scape goat in Cristiano Ronaldo, and again I don't even like the guy, and started a persecutory campain, which, with the power of that rich country press, spread out and turned people's mind against the Kidd. Then, the French press, before the game France v Portugal, continue that work in a disgusting way, and once again, with the straight of a powerfull rich country press, lies were spread out, and as you can understand our press can not undo that, because if you can read English or French journals and see they're TV, you can not read or see ours. Then even Mister Blatter enter the game, stating that Cristiano didn't get the Young player award because he dived to much, and this in the eve of the game Germany v Portugal, fantastic, don't you think? Maybe now he can explain the attribution of the distinction "best player of the world cup" to Zidane, a player that I admire and respect, because of his fantastic "head" game.
And now the cherry on the top of the cake, FIFA announced that Portugal was chosen as the team with the most spectacular Football of the championship... What was this? Some kind of compensation? I don't even agree with it!!!

Once again, I really can't stand persecutions, maybe because my father was arrested and tortured by the political police when Portugal was a dictatorship. I think you can understand that.

Ok, that is stupid. What I stated was aimed at the players and has nothing to do with the portuguese people, or the country itself.
I think if the press writes something, it should be about the squad and not about a whole nation, as that is insane...

...on a side note...

Does anybody know what was said to Zinedine Zidane [france] before he gave that headbang in the finals?
I have heard that the arrogancy of that italien made him do it?

What a way to end a good carreer, ay?

om what iv heard mozarella is known for saying things in the italian leagues and there were roumors of calling Zizou a 'terrorist' due to african background but im not sure if that would set him off.

the other thing i heard The latest on zidane story is that materazzi says to him "i hope Jen suffered........"

Apparantly Jen was zidane's old trainer and someone he considers a second father....... he died just before the world cup with cancer hence zidane often was looking up to the sky after a goal.

I dont know if this is fact, it was in a UK newspaper of dubious credibility.

Another thing I discovered is that Italian goalkeeper Buffon after short talk with Zidane after match made an ultimatum to Italian coach: Buffon don't want to play with Materazzi in the same team.

Zidane is not a young boy, been here for ages, and I don't recall any attitude from him that was not of correction. He is my favorit player of the last decade, and it's sad to see him go like this.
I pretty sure that that Materazzi guy didn't said to him that it was a beautifull night, and that the only reason he will be remembered in years to come will be the fact that he received a header from the great player Zidane.

Thanks for prove me right. Another English site, and I'm sure you can find hundreds of them, doing they're propaganda, and showing how hard it was for them to lose against an ignorant sardine eater people.
And I can see that propaganda does pay off, at least judging by you, seeming to me that you are trying to prove that the Portuguese team is a bunch of cheating divers. If so, that's your opinion, I disagree, and don't see much more that can be said about this subject. Raiuga signing off.

I don't need anyone to prove my point, all who have seen Portugals games knows what I'm talking about. Rooney deserved the card - no doubt. and I'm glad England didn't win, playing that kind of boring football.

My personal favorites was the Mexican team and Spain.

but we'll never agree on this - this would be just like me debating with a chelsea fan. no offence !
