Thanks Guys,
well It was the router Firewall blocking the client PC from the net.
But I still get the error message when trying to see the shares on the Host PC.
A friend of mine asked me if I had had any viruses recently which I replied yes indeed, he thinks I will never get it working as the virus probably messed up all the permissions, your views =?

Anyway I can see the shares on the client from the host which is the main thing I wanted to do, as I have all my digital photo's on the client.

Still a bit of mystery as to why the Routers Firewall should block Networked PC's from accessing the net and why The host won't let me see the shares on it.

Needless to say I have now learnt alot about Networking :) I even managed to set up the WPA on the WLAN client PC :)

isn't that where you can select whether you want someone to help you (remote assistance) acros the net
and Remote desktop, so if you would like if, and so yes, which user can log on to your computer from the internet

(for this settings the router must forward the 3389 port, which it doesn't by default...

about those shares, have you or have you not found that checkbox with the text i mentioned earlier.. that use simple file sharing?!

because if you do NOT use simple file sharing, you can modify rights and permissions.

if you try to connect to the share, it simply sais permission denied?
you can try in this case to use windows explorer and type in your address bar \\"computername"\"sharename"
where computername is the name of you target computer, where you want to connect to..
sharename is just the name of the share which you made...
probably you will get a login box for that share.. try here the useraccount and password of the target computer

Hmz.. I hava a slightly idea that could be a problem... :D

ok, when you want to share a folder, you can click right on the folder, and then click the sharing tab.
There you can click a sort of link which says: i do understand the securityrisk of file sharing, but i do want to share files without the wizard.
Then you have a share name to fill in, and the last checkbox which says that network users can change/modify your files. Check the box if you want and click ok..
That should it.

but this is, i think, what you already have done?!
