Problem
« on: December 16, 2005, 06:19:40 pm »
I wasn't sure where to post this as it could be related to hardware. Anyway, here it goes: A friend of mine has this pc

CPU : AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2166 MHz
Bus Speed : 166 MHz
Motherboard : ASUSTeK A7V600-X
System : System System Name
BIOS : Award ASUS A7V600-X ACPI BIOS Revision 1003
Memory : 1024 MB
Sound : SoundMAX Digital Audio
Video : NVIDIA GeForce 6600

When playing games sometimes it freezes, more often while running another program at the same time ie azureus. When this happens he notices the graphics degrade and sometimes disappear entirely. For this reason, he believes it has something to do with his graphics card.

I have no clue. Is this the problem? If so, how could it be fixed? Is it something else? Any help would be appreciated.

He said that running another program will increase the chances this will happen, it still happens sometimes even if he runs nothing else.

maybe try to set the graphic detail not to maximum.
so change resolution back one step, textures and stuf not to maximum.. and find a way the game will run...
and shut all programs except windows... :P
just kiddin,
but torrent clients, msn, virusscanners, etc, shut or disable them...
