The speakers I am using right now are shot, mostly churning out only static.

I'm looking for good quality speakers, but nothing fancy like surround sound, or super high quality stuff that works only with the best of the best sound cards.

I'm running off my On-Board sound card. I'm just looking for a well-priced, solid, long-lasting, quality set of speakers.

Well Ive got theese

http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=43J0&CategorySelectedId=11122&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11122,50550&v=1#infoarea

and personally i think they are amazing, i only paid £46 for mine because they were on offer at the time, they work great even though im using an onboard sound card. One downside is because its a 5.1 surround set you do have to have wires trailing everywhere but if you can manage to tuck them away somewhere then its fine. The subwoofer also provides quite a kick  Smiley

See, there's the problem.

My room is properly set up and doesn't have the proper layout to hold the extra speaks and subwoofer.

I'm basically looking for a set of two speakers (Front Left and Right) that are of good quality and will last me a long time.

I have 2 speakers of good quality. They can simulate surround sound and have seperate bass and treble control. The bass is quite good, but can't be as loud as with a subwoofer ofcourse. I believe I paid 50 EUR (~63 USD) for it, and that was more than 2 years ago.

I'm not at home, but when I am I'll get back to you with the name and company.

Btw, subwoofers can often be easily placed under your desk, so you may want to reconsider not wanting one.

Well, upon a little creative thinking, I've figured a may to mount the speakers behind me, so the surround sound system comes back into play.

looks like a nice set, very powerful and i like that it comes with a remote control. A couple of complaints i saw on there tho are that the cables seem to be quite short and the subwoofer is HUGE Shocked. Still that said, looks good Smiley
