x64 virus scanner - biggest oxymoron ever
« on: September 02, 2006, 11:03:00 pm »
Both the major anti-virus companies have said that it's not going to happen any time soon.

So does anyone know of an x64-bit virus program (free would be best)

thanks

What do you mean a x64 bit virus scanner? Why should the system bus matter when scanning for viri?

When you install it tells you x64 isn't supported, hence I need an x64 program

Yep, both Norton and Macaffe (never get that right) tell you that there's currently no x64 version, and fail to install.

There was actually a press release I could dig up stating that by both companies if you'd like.

Either way, right now I need virus and antispyware in x64

I suggest using avast. That's what I use and they seem to support x64:

It's also free :)
