Help ! What is the + 2.5 Volt line for
« on: October 18, 2003, 08:14:11 pm »
I downloaded the Mobo Temp tool MBProbe from the internet.
According to it my + 2.5 Volt line has a voltage drop on it.
I suspect a dry joint on one ram slot.
As I touched the top of one ram stick , very gently I got a serious error message and a blue screen, with a stack dump.

Can someone confirm that the +2.5 V power line something to do with the RAM slots is ?
Or what does this power line supply.

It should be 2.5V but is 2.45V.
The MBProbe exe is warning me by beeping and flashing in the taskbar.

Have I found my problem ? What do you think. :-\

your 2,5v-line should be a 3v-line, itīs indeed for memory

I also have a 3.3V power line ?
According to the psu it has a 2.5V and a 3.3V line and a 5V and a 12V.

Are you sure it should be 3V ?

On the MBProbe window it says Vccp 2   is  2.45 V
What is Vccp ?
Is this the V core voltages ? as Vccp 1 is  1.74V.

If so is this the voltage for the SIS 730S chipset or the AGP controller.

Sorry to get so Technical. ;)

I checked my bios, Iīve got a +12v, +3,3v,-12v & -3,3v line. But a 2,5v? it ainīt your cpu, but it could be your i/o controller

Could you download MBProbe EXE and tell me what your readings are, on your PC.

I take it their the SIS chipset 730S voltage. ?

It's a tricky one, you have to download the NT tool exe.
Then copy givesys to C:system.
Then re-boot, it works then. ;)

I did that (I can read you know, but almost all values remain 0, except temp. sensors). I used mbm5 now, just look at the screenshot.

See what you mean Rottevis.
But your readings look completely different than mine.
I know it's a different app.I was just hoping to identify what this Vcc is.
Vcc1 is definately my cpu core voltage.
Vcc2 well I'm still in the dark I guess.

Vcc2 = northbridge --> Sis-chipset

Aha, you confirmed my suspicions.Thanks.
I guess that's why the heatsink on my 730S feels cool to the touch, even after playing Emperor.
