When I exit Emperor game my desktop is sometimes smaller than usual

When I exit a game to desktop my screen is sometimes smaller than the screen width ?
I then have to change the refresh rate and then back to the usual 100 HZ.
My monitor supports this freq at 1024 X 768

Again this puzzles me as too why it does this, it's not every time but quite often. :-\

Does it seem to happen more often when you've used the pc for a longer time ?

which DirectX version are you at ?

9.1 has been casuing a lot of troubles lately with games. . so they have released 9.1b specially for WinXP. It might help. . . .

I think Gryphon means 9.0b, which is what you already have if I'm not mistaken. If there is a DirectX 9.1b, I have no clue as where to find it.

Well if you type it in the Google search bar, it finds it, but I couldn't find a proper download site for it ??

We discussed it in class yesterday .. . I also though it should be 9.0 .. not shure at the moment although I don't know where to get 9.1 if it should be out. Gon'na ask the guy when he comes online tonight [ if ever ]
I didn't have time to look it up at the Microsoft site before I check after the above post, so I presumed he was tight and it shouldhave been 9.1 and that I had missed the release email of it [ my inbox still has 40 mails in it waiting to get any attention ] :-[

I doubt your problem has to do with your DirectX version.  It could be that the game is running at a different resolution than your desktop and it is changing things when run!

It might be just an Emperor bug, because I've asked other players and they get this happening too.
