I know your frustration and I have been there myself years ago with Klingon Academy.

Could you please run dxdiag.exe and save the output to a text file. You can then attach the text file in another post in this thread using the "attach" text field in the post screen. Maybe there is something we will find out about your configuration that is causing the problem.

I was running this game with WIN98 and it ran like a champ.  I recnetly upgraded to XP now I get the Tech. Difficulties Serious error occured and it boots me back to the desk top?   My system is pretty low end however it ran just fine with 98?   Is this  a XP problem, EA problem, or a Hardware problem?  Thanks in advance for any help you can give.  I will try to attach the EAsy system info file.  THanks again  ???

Try setting IE as your default browser.
Try lowering your desktop resolution to 16bit, default refresh rate.
make sure you've updated your drivers.

Most definitely update your video card driver to the 40.72 version:

Could you attach you dxdiag output as well? The easy report is somewhat limited in info.

Well, the following isn't good:

------------
DxDiag Notes
------------
DirectX Files Tab: The file mfc40.dll is incorrectly installed in the Windows folder and should be deleted.

Also, your soundcard drivers are still out of date..

For staters thanks for hte help...I think I fixed the DxDiag problem and downloaded updated sound drivers.  I will give it a try and see what happens.  I am attaching the updated DxDiag, if you all would not mind looking through and seeing if there is anything else not quite right.  THanks again :'(

You might want to press the Windows update button. You seem to miss SP 1 (and a lot more).

Apart from that, I can't see anything else wrong...
