PLZZZZZ my problem:
i always had all sort of problems with my modem, but now its worse then anything... ill explain:
once before alot of time i used to play CNC generals online alot, my ping was ussualy 180 or so, and i got used to that cause i live in israel so what can i do... anyway, our network companies allied with microsoft or something i dunno, and my ping got down to 90 when playing generals... i was so happy i could touch the sky, so i play for some time and after 3 months or so, my ping is 180 again, i call my friend who live in the same street, he got the same deal as i do in the internet thing, he login to generals and ping is 90, i go freak... anyways i got used to it, but now it got worse, now my ping is 300 on generals and on other games too, i dont know how to fix this so if anyone can help me, plz do.

Is it just your ping time ingame or is other internet traffic as downloading and browsing also affected ?

You could do a ping from your home and your friends to a couple US based servers. . see if there is a big differance. If you are behind a router or in a LAN that can also effect your pingtime.

Are you on cable or DSL ?

Its also downloads, my friend lc downloaded something with 200 Kb/sec after that i downloaded in 60 Kb/sec...

have u got Kazaa running or such like that?? it is normal that kazaa will leech all of yur linespeed. Try closing all of your programs. then run generals. If it does not work and all your downloads and stuff gets slower, it might be a problem with your ISP. Maybe that they have decided that you are not allowed anymore to surf with that speed...
Ask your ISP for some clearance..

have you installed or uninstalled any network related programms recently ?
games, firewall .. anything like that.

Virus scanners can also effect the download / internet connection speed.

If you are using an external router / modem try to reset / reboot it.

When you do an internet ping to your computer and your friends. . is there any differance in time ?

And as Phoenix suggested, you might want to call your ISP. They can check and verify the quality of the line upto your home-connection-point. That way we would look on which side to look for the problem.
