Desperately Need Help
« on: January 07, 2007, 12:01:23 pm »
I upgraded to Windows Professional x64 awhile back.

Short story even shorter: my DVD burners (have dual) don't have any drivers, let alone x64 ones and I can't burn DVDs.

In fact, I can't find anything in terms of firmware or drivers for my primary drive:

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H10N

I really need help, huge music fan and I want to burn. Hell, I tried even throwing in the bundled disk but low and behold - it doesn't detect it.

EDIT: Besides that it operates like normal

what are your system specs ? Has it worked before ? If so, what changed ?
What software do you use to burn a DVD ? Is it just music, or also data ?

Operates like normal, does that mean you can watch a DVD movie ?

In other words, we need more info :)

Sorry, things've been crazy and I haven't had the chance to reply. The PC specs are in the dxdiag.

Yeah, it worked before when I was running Windows Home Edition (I.E - not Windows x64) and I just installed the drivers/programs from the disk.

It's only music. And I used iTunes or WMP, but neither recognize the drive at all, for instance WMP asks to connect a drive capable of burning and try again.

No, like it ran disks and such, but I can't watch a DVD or anything like that or burn a CD/DVD.

Did you try contacting LG for this ? They may have your answer.
I searched for this issue, but couldn't find something matching.

You could check out the link below, as the probs seem to be similar. Ther is one guy in that thread who also uses Windows x64..
