: Setting up Sygate Personal Firewall
: Atomic Mitten October 10, 2005, 09:29:58 PM
Can someone tell me if generic processes for windows should be allowed access ?
also there are a load of sys 32 apps which I'm not sure whether to allow or not such as Llssrv.exe and DNS.exe and quite a few more, certsrv.exe
dfssvc.exe, ismserv.exe, lserver.exe, mqsvc.exe, mstask.exe, wins.exe.

Also Ntosknrl.exe keeps trying to access the net , I have it blocked at the moment.

block wins, mstask, dfssvc, generic. I am not sure about the rest. If you are in doubt block it. Reboot and see if everything is stil working.

depending on how paranoide you are. You can block it if you please as no systems kernel should need internet access.
